HOW ZHC WORKS

ZACHOR Holocaust Curriculum uses the firsthand experiences of Holocaust Survivor Ben Lesser to illustrate and support educators teaching the Eastern European section of World War II.

Our curriculum includes seven stimulating lesson plans containing written content, fact inserts, photographs and videos. A toolbox of the included resources labeled with icons take Teachers / Students directly to the content.

Following each section, you will find thought-provoking Teacher/Student activities. Website links and additional resources are also provided for any student who wants to further explore a topic or has additional questions.

The lessons can be projected for an entire classroom or can be viewed individually. The curriculum can also be printed out. Look for this icon

Some of the lessons come directly from Ben’s autobiography: Living a Life that Matters: from Nazi Nightmare to American Dream, other content is derived from his speeches and notes . Get your copy today.

Teachers may utilize all of the information presented here, or the lessons can be easily shortened to allow for time constraints.

Each section scaffolds on the next, however, not all sections have to be used. Review the lessons and choose what you feel will be most meaningful to students.

Our intention is for Ben’s lessons to encourage and inspire future generations to do and be better – because of what they have learned about the Holocaust.
